Vital Records

The county clerk’s office manages all vital records for Oceana County and makes certified copies available to the public.

Certificate Fees

The first copy is $15 and additional copies of the same record are $5.00 except for birth. It is $6.00.

How to Get Certificates

Online

• Use the contact form on the right side of the page. In the comment box, please include:
  • Birth
    • Full name of the person on the record.
    • Birthdate.
    • Birthplace.
    • Parents full names and mother’s maiden name.
    • Mailing address that you would like the certificate sent to.
  •  Death
    • Full name of the person on the record.
    • Date of death.
    • Mailing address that you would like the certificate sent to.
  • Marriage
    • Full names of both spouses at the time of marriage.
    • Date of marriage.
    • Mailing address that you would like the certificate sent to.
• Send a picture of your valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport) via email to countyclerk@oceana.mi.us.
  • Please call first if you are unable to produce a valid photo ID. There are alternate documents that may be accepted by the clerk. One photo ID will be required in almost all cases.
• Pay for vital records online using our secure payment portal.

In Person

• Complete the vital records request form (PDF).
• Provide a valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport).
• Cash, debit/credit card, check, and money order payments are accepted.

By Mail

• Complete the vital records request form (PDF).
• Include a photocopy of a valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport).
• Check or money order payable to Oceana County Clerk.
• Mailed requests are processed in 1-2 business days.
