The County Clerk is an elected position, serving a four-year term. The clerk is responsible for issuing and the filing of marriage licenses, keeping records of births, deaths, assumed names, co-partnerships, concealed weapons permits, veterans discharges, notary bonds, filings for circuit court, circuit court jurors, and processing of passport applications. The clerk administers all election functions required by law, in addition to tabulating ballots and training all election inspectors within the county.
